Thank you, Señor Canyes

I have blogged more than a few times about the gift of music. I have been blessed many times in that arena.
This next collection of CD’s that I have just today ripped into mp3z came about to be a nice gift, but a curious one too.

An old online friend, Joan Canyes from Spain, seeing my collection was missing music by Dire Straits (I only had one CD of my own), had sent to me 3 more. A very nice gift.

Joan many times seemed like a figment of my imagination, he was very elusive and mysterious. When the CD’s came, I remember thinking, hey, he’s for real.

He didn’t manifest himself though, my last trip to Spain , and unfortunately to all my other disbelieving friends, became the butt of many jokes. They affectionately set a place for “Mr X” at every table and at the restaurants too. The trip was glorious, even without him joining my group of newly made friends on the internet, and so is the music. Thanks, Mr. Canyes.
