Udumung

Another weekend, and we went looking for more wildflowers. We had a few stops we planned to take. Not sure this one was planned, but our first stop was Udumung Nature Reserve. There were immediate flowers to see right by the road.

Dryandra or Banksia, there is a debate about this now.

Plenty of donkey orchids to see.

Grevillea or Hakea, the science doesn’t seem to be in on this one.

Hibertia

Look at this banksia, practically hiding in the ground.

Cowslip orchid.

Drosera

This little fringed lily’s flowers are as big as a thumbnail, these were growing on top of a rock.

Isopogon

It was about this time my husband began to unexpectedly show me some amazing dance moves. I always wanted him to teach me proper ballroom dancing, but this wasn’t like anything I’ve seen on TV… Didn’t take any photos of how he dazzled me.

It turns out we had met up with some very upset inch ants and they were literally on his pants and inside them. Now, over a week later he still has some of the welts from their stings.

Inch ants, very vicious creatures.
