Washington D.C. and Jenny’s Birthday

Some failed ideas of how simple it would be to take Jenny to New York City for her birthday, we ended up going to Washington D.C. Since I LOVE going to D.C. , it seemed like a good second choice.

We picked a blustery, cold, day to go to our Nation’s capital.

We selected the American History Museum, since it had been eons we had gone there and there had been many changes since the last time we went.

The miniature world of Faith Bradford. This miniature family consists of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Doll, their 10 children, two visiting grandparents, five servants, and 20 pets. The Dolls have lived in their house at the museum since 1967.

John likes the boats, which were throughout the transportation displays.

The Thomas Edison section had tiny drawings throughout.

What a thrill to see Abraham Lincoln’s pocket watch from 1850

Another treat, Dorothy’s actual shoes from the Wizard of Oz!

The obligatory photo of each of us taking a photo of each other. 🙂

Miquel’s favorite display was on Vietnam.

In the museum shop, Miquel tries on a Lincoln hat. He could pull off that look. 🙂

Had to get Laura in this too, since Lincoln is her best buddy.

A favorite display, the First Lady’s gowns and dresses.

Planning what to do next…

Starbucks of course!

A happy birthday for Jenny.

A nice day in D.C.
