We Still Do Sunsets

Things you remember as a child…

My mom turned on the movie Born Free one evening, she made a big deal out of it, and I was instantly in love with lions and of all things, the Indian Ocean. There was one part of the movie where the lion cubs were frolicking in the water of the Indian Ocean. That scene was so memorable to me, I always wanted to see it.

So when I came the first time with Laura, and given that I also like sunsets, I requested to see the sunset over the Indian Ocean as much as possible. John did his very best, and we got to see many, including the best sunset ever.

The second time I came, we got married by the Indian Ocean, and we often went to the beach at night to get photos of sunsets. I likely bored my family with blog posts and slide shows of sunsets.

The next time here, it was winter and chilly, and all the rivers were finally full of water. We took a lot of photos of waterfalls that year. I took so many that I was sure to admit that “Waterfalls are the new Sunsets.”

So that brings us to this year. It seems that Fireworks are the new Waterfalls and Sunsets.

But really…we still do sunsets.

Recently it was a HOT day. I was cranky and the heat bothers my tummy and I just didn’t know what to do with myself next. John took me to the beach.

We were almost too late the sun was going down fast and the moon was up.

It was even getting a little dark.

It was even getting a little dark.

There was still time to see the waves being lit by the low sun.

And then it went.

And then it went.

Then it was almost gone.

Then it was almost gone.

We lingered because it's t he most refreshing breeze and so nice to get your feet wet!

And why not stick around and get some wave photos?

Which we sure did.:)
