Why Can’t It Be Everlasting

If it’s magic, then why can’t it be everlasting
Like the sun that always shines
Like the poets in this rhyme
Like the galaxies in time

~Stevie Wonder

It can be everlasting, Stevie, especially when talking about these wildflowers, the Everlastings.
It occurs to me as I write this blog, that my husband has been sending me flowers for a long time now. Many years ago, in a package, hidden in a tube, twice, he sent me these flowers, everlastings, showing me how long they do last and look fresh, well, forever.

It seems on our way to Paynes Find, we finally hit the jackpot, Everlastings!

There were so many and so many varieties.

They are just a dreamy and stunning flower.

Here is a photo I don’t think I’ve seen often, Everlastings next to a puddle. We surely did get some rain the last few days.

But the dry, cracked clay tells how dry it was before the rains.

Last time I was here with Laura we were promised “Carpets of Everlastings.”  This is nearly the carpet we were looking for.

Yet another termite mound. I took notice that it was of a different color of those we saw the day before.

In some spots, as far as the eye could see were everlastings.
It was magic.
