“You’re Too Busy”

Good Housekeeping Magazine

You know you are too busy when the first chance one gets to read a magazine bought on November 7th,2005, is finally read (and in the bathtub I might add) on April 29th, 2006.

I used to love reading women’s magazines. My sister used to subscribe to Good Housekeeping, and when she was finished with it, she would give them over to me. I looked forward to them. I loved and tried all the recipes, decorating tips, and hair ideas.

These days, I haven’t the time nor the money to pick them up.I don’t know what caught my eye on November 2005 to purchase that magazine, but I finally got the time to look at it today.

Women’s magazines haven’t changed that much since those days when I would get my sister’s magazines. There are many more diet ideas than there used to be I think, but oddly enough, they still have all those decadent recipe ideas too.

I have only read a fraction of this issue, but already I have my shopping list of some must things this magazine says I have to have:

  1. baking soda to save money on those clarifying hair shampoos
  2. a round brush sprayed with hair spray to smooth split ends, and if I do, I will have perfect Courtney Cox hair.
  3. an A-line black dress to hide the fact I have had three children
  4. ginseng tea – apparently I have all the symptoms of adrenal fatigue.
  5. L-glutamine – don’t ask.
  6. Tofu
  7. lemons to drink in hot water 3 times a day
  8. Hoodia? Where do they get these names from!

…and I am only up to page 39.

Thank heavens I don’t normally have time to read magazines! I can’t afford them!
