1972

Old panasonic tape cassette recorderI suppose 1972 was the year I started listening to the radio in earnest, finding songs I liked, and taping them with my very own Panasonic Tape Recorder to listen to songs over and over again! Not sure my parents were very happy about that, but I got a lot of enjoyment from the tape recorder. My dad used to let me use his reel-to-reel as well.

Hey, I used that same recorder for a Texas Instruments (TI-994a) computer. The forerunner to what we now know as a “Hard Drive” on our computers. You could actually store data on a cassette tape!
